Invest In You, Because You Are Worth It!
What's more valuable than making memories and freezing them in time?
When should I book my session?
As soon as possible! Our calendar books up months in advance. You will also want to allow time for editing and ordering the prints. We prefer to photograph newborn photos within the first 4 weeks and maternity photos between 30-35 weeks.
What should I wear?
Keep it simple and classic. Textures (knits, lace, jeans) photograph really well. At your consultation, we will discuss clothing options and so much more. We will also send you prep guide that will help you prepare for your session. For maternity sessions we typically recommend three looks, and for boudoir sessions we recommend up to 5 outfits.
Can I purchase the digital images?
Yes, we have multiple options for purchasing the digital files, for printing and online use. If you purchase one of our collections you will also receive a complimentary mobile "app" that will allow you to view and share the images to various social media sites directly from your phone.
Where should I order my prints from?
We are a full service portrait study and we do not want to send you home with a "to do" list. Therefore, we recommend purchasing your prints and albums through us, at your viewing appointment. We ensure the quality and color of the prints and by purchasing your prints through us, you can also rest assured that you will be able to enjoy your images on display for generations to come. All our folio boxes, albums and wall portraits come with a pair of white gloves and are delivered to your home once the order arrives.
What if my child or I get sick before the session?
Contact us asap to reschedule. If you or your child are not feeling well, it will show in your photographs!
Where will my session be?
Most maternity, newborn, milestone, boudoir and headshot sessions are done in the studio, during the daytime. Family, children over 1, and high school senior sessions are typically done on location, in the evening. We also offer a location/studio combo for those that want a little bit of both. We have a gorgeous lake next to the studio and it is an exclusive location for our clients. If, you need a location suggestion just let us know, we are happy to help!
Is hair & makeup included?
Absolutely! Part of your experience with Misty Jones Photography is to feel pampered! This is not just a photo session, it is an experience! We want you to feel empowered, beautiful, sexy and confident.
Will you help me with posing?
Yes, yes, yes! Sometimes poses happen naturally and other times it requires more direction. We will make sure that you are posed in the best position and lighting for your body type. Part of looking good in your photographs is being comfortable, we will do our best to make sure that everyone being photographed is relaxed, confident and comfortable.
Can portraits be retouched?
Retouching removes minor blemishes and softens the look of wrinkles, lines and strong shadows. This basic retouching is done on all prints at no additional charge. Extensive retouching is also offered and would have an additional one-time fee per image. Extensive retouching would include removing stray hair, braces removal, glass glare, removing wrinkles from clothing, removing bra straps and hair ties. Often, expensive retouching can be avoided by planning ahead.
What is Copyright?
When you have your photographs taken by a professional photographer, the images are the property of the photographer. Even if you purchase the digital files, the copyright of each image belongs to the photographer.
