1. Pay attention to their style and make sure it matches your own. Most photographers have a unique style such as light and airy or dark and moody.
2. Ask to see an unedited photo. Photoshop is a great tool to add finishing touches but it shouldn't be a fix for things like bad posing and lighting.
3. Be careful of "cheap" photographers. Ever heard the saying "you get what you pay for"?
